I think I waited too long to write this post..so much has already happened this week! Rome was amazing. I would go back in a heartbeat. We had a three day weekend thanks to Christopher Columbus. It all began
very early in the morning on Saturday. We headed to the airport at 2:30 a.m. because we had to get there two hours before our 6:00 flight. It was an exciting trip, to say the least. We fly on an airline called
RyanAir, which is a super cheap airline. Because it is so cheap, they're pretty strict about baggage size, you don't get complimentary beverages, and you get to listen to advertisements throughout the flight. I suggest bringing headphones. After we arrived in Rome, we zipped through the passport check and got on our bus, which took us to the
termini, which was the train station. Our hostel ended up being close to this, which we figured out after we walked halfway around the city.
Everywhere you walk in Rome, there is some beautiful building or a cool fountain. This is the first one we ran into on accident:
Luckily, we had maps (we're getting pretty good at using those) and we just decided to start heading towards Vatican City. It was a long, long walk, but well worth it. Here are some sites along the way..
And then...

After we stared in awe and some lady tried to talk us into a "good deal" for a tour, we decided to go through the
Vatican Museum. For those of you who don't know, this is where the
Sistine Chapel is located. There are also lots of other awesome things there, but that is the coolest. Unfortunately, you aren't allowed to take pictures inside it, although some people do and the guards will clap at you. It's pretty funny to see. So, here are pictures of other neat stuff at the Vatican Museum:

I would love to write more about Rome, however, this blog post will continue on Sunday when I get back from Frankfurt. We've got an early flight tomorrow! Check back on Sunday!
